Contagious Equine Metritis (CEM) Contract and Estimate for Services

  • Estimate # 1

    Average base cost for uncomplicated CEM veterinary fees performed at an approved facility other that The Piedmont Equine Practice- $1,700.00-$1,800.00- This EXCLUDES boarding fees, state veterinarian fees and any additional supplies or services that may be required.

  • Estimate # 2

    Average base cost for uncomplicated CEM veterinary fees, including board, performed at The Piedmont Equine Practice- $2,900.00-$3,000.00- This EXCLUDES state veterinarian fees and any additional supplies or services that may be required.

  • Estimate for Optional Recommended Services

    Coggins, CORE Vaccine (EWT, WN and Rabies), Flu/Rhino Vaccine and Potomac Horse Fever Vaccine- $140.00

  • Estimate for state vet services

    *A Virginia state vet must be present for unloading the horse off the trailer when it first arrives to the designated quarantine facility and for the first wash and pack treatment. These services are not billed through Piedmont Equine. Estimate for services $400.00-$500.00

    As the owner and/ or financially responsible individual for the equine presenting for CEM services I understand that complications could arrive that may incur fees above and beyond the listed estimates and those services will be discussed with me prior to them being performed. (Two examples of complications that would increase the cost of services may be a horse spiking a fever or a positive culture.)

    I understand that services, related to CEM quarantine, performed by The Piedmont Equine Practice must be paid in full 24 hours prior to the horse being released from quarantine by the state veterinarian.
