Jesha Marcy-Quay

Jesha started riding horses at age 5, competing in eventing at age 7, and bought her first horse at 12. She dedicated a large portion of her life to the equine world and was a working student for an upper level eventing trainer during and after her undergraduate studies. Prior to veterinary school, she competed at the Intermediate level of eventing with her one of her own horses, Marly.

Jesha attended veterinary school at the University of Tennessee, where she balanced studying with riding her horses daily, working in the large animal hospital as an emergency/critical care technician, and working for the USEF as a drug testing technician. She also served as the Treasurer of the student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, was active in the Large Animal Emergency Team, and earned her business certificate through the Veterinary Business Management Association. Upon graduation, Jesha was awarded with the SCAAEP Faculty Award of Excellence for equine medicine and surgery.

Jesha is excited to move to northern Virginia with her two horses and cat to join the Piedmont Equine team as a veterinary intern.  She has a special interest in lameness and sports medicine but loves all equids large and small. Outside of work and riding Jesha enjoys distance running, hiking, backpacking, and traveling the world.
